Send me a postcard!
And Ramadhan is back. A month when muslim all around the world fast. Want more info on Ramadhan and fasting? Search it for yourself! Hehehe It's been about a week already. And I'm trying my best to manipulated this fasting month trying to lose some weight. Doing well. Started off with 78kg (whats with the grin?!) and now I'm 76kg. If I can keep up the good work, I might shed another 6kg or so before Raya! Actually it's been boring this past few days. Nothing to do. Still polishing my resume. Will try to look for jobs next week.
Meanwhile, I'm building my website. Hopefully it will be done by a month or two. Whats in it? Well, I'll put up my photograph, print ad and all work in a portfolio style.

Everybody knows!
Tomorrow is the day for the two Malaysian idol contestant. Nothing much to comment. Malaysian has shown that we’re good voters. Nevermind who wins tomorrow, we’ll have another star in the making. Dina and Jac can sure sing. They have the attitude. And they have the will to win. It’s gonna be tough for me to choose the winner. So good luck!
In a month we’re also gonna see another much anticipated result. Who’s gonna be the next Prez of the United States? With the heats going up day by day, Bush is still today, according to poll leading Kerry. I just can’t understand what the Americans sees in Bush? One thing I know, is that Bush is smarter than he is credited for. Hahaha, I’m not kidding. Read on.
Bush is an opportunist. An imperialist egotistical opportunist. A smart one at it too. For a Muslim, I knew something bad would happen when I saw the WTC felt down crushing. There’s the reason. Attack Afghanistan to track down Osama who until today is nowhere to be found. (For all we know he’s in Texas hehehe) While we’re at that why don’t we attack Iraq? Dad says they’re up to no good. By the way, they do have oil; oh I mean WMD don’t they?
There’s other sorta lies or “misleading” incident even in the United States herself. What the people want now is the truth! While Bush is denying all the accusations, he still stands firm on all decision he made. When will the people realize that Bush will never admit his fault? It’s not profitable for him. If he loses, then he will be jotted down in the book of history as a bloody liar and worst Prez America has ever had. If he win’s, which is not impossible, he will proud to brag that he is man with a firm stand. Why should he tell you the truth? Why would you ask for the truth? You damn know the truth!
There is no WMD in Iraq, but there’s for sure oil there. Saddam who hides in a rat hole was never a threat. He declared victory in Iraq, yet today, over 400 soldier died. Terrorist starts war, so what should we call Bush when he attacked Iraq? Bush is not protecting America from terrorist, he is asking for more attacks! He’s making more enemy than allies. While at it, he’s also making more money. Man, 1 more term and he’ll be richer than Bill Gate’s. Just think.
To makes things easier, why don’t the other countries, combine power, and let’s attack America instead. Bush have WMD, he might, and would use it to any country. Bush is a threat to peace! Give the White House a 30 days warning to hand over Bush (we’ll attack on the 15th day), we trial him and let America vote for a new Prez. Now wouldn’t that be great to see. (Luckily I can’t be arrest under the Patriot act hehehe)

Adoi Adrenaline 2004
I was archiving my pix's and come by with these of me winning the Bronze award for the Adoi Adrenaline Creative Student Awards Malaysia Singapore 2004. My print ad was on a charity shelter home. The award night was held at The Berjaya Times Square. A bit boring then last years award night, but hey, can't complaint, I brought home an award this year! (This was back in July)

Tomorrow, or I guess its this morning, Shah Alam will again host the National Fire Fighters day. From last years experience, even though I wasnt prepared for what to expect, the show was great. The colours, fire engine, people and gimmick was awesome. Hope for the same experience this year. Wait up for the project outcome!

My very own solo exhibition
I love photography. It's a passion. It's wonderful to know that using a blog I can exhibit my work online. It's even better than doing an exhibition at an art gallery, here, the whole world can see it!
Ramadhan is near, fasting month for the Muslims. It's a month full of picture oppurtinity. That would be my next project, in a week or so. In the mean time I'll be busy archiving all my past project and posting it here!

Kancil Awards and me
Me with Edward, Creative Group Head of Young & Rubicam. We first met when I asked him to give a talk for my AdChat few weeks back.
Roi & Ethen from Lim Kok Wing. They team up and took home Silver and Bronze. I came in fourth with a Merit. Made new friends! Behind is my work.

What a night! I never thought advertising would be this happening. I know it's fun, but this is way out of my league. The people, the ceremony, the glitz and glamour.
There I was seating alone with all this other students from Lim Kok Wing, The One and IACT. Talking to some new friends, Roy and Ethen, I was asked the first ever hard to answer question. What was I doing there? All of them are taking graphic designs etc. All of them are from the creative side and I'm the only who study Media Planning and Advertising Management. I don't even study drawing in UiTM.
And all I got from an experience of a lifetime is a Special Merit Award. In layman eyes its nothing, but for the about 300 students who entered the contest, its an achievement to cherish. Can't say that I'm not frustrated, but I lost to the better team. Congrats Roi and Ethen!
Thinking about it again, I guess somewhere inside me, I want to be a good practitioner to be. I want to know how to take care of an account and be creative too. I hope it's an advantage for me. With the world going fast forward, multitasking is the way.

Going ape!
Warghhh! I flop my bloody stat paper. I just took my test, but somehow, without knowing the result, I know I flopped. This morning, didnt do brilliantly either during the mandarin oral test. A day full of failures. The only two subject left and I'm going nowhere with it. I need to do something, FAST!
It's no big deal, except that if I fail, I'll just end up in this U for another 6 month! Why can't they cut me some slack. Been doing well with those other subjects.
Anyway, there's still time for last minute improvement. And I can't be bother with whats happening today. I'm still too happy waiting for tomorrows function. After that, I WILL FIGHT FOR MY LIFE! I have three days. Just three days before my stats final exam. I know I can do it. I can do it in class. But just can't seem to find the time to revise hehehehe It seems that my problem is when I don't feel it is important to me, I'll just leave it that way. (Somehow stats is actually not important at all to me!) But hey, half of the things in life is not important, but I still do it. Such as, errr, aaaa, damn! Can't find any. Geez, I'm going ape, it seems everything is important!
Do you think apes has this kind of problem? I know they don't study stats, but they sure do have crisis right? What to eat, maybe where to sleep? Nuts, I AM going ape! I'll just do the usual. Stop worrying (avoid getting myself bald) and face your problem when the time comes! (or three days after hahaha)

Coming Back From the Dead
I was sleeping yesterday when a call came in for me. When I woke up, I called back the number, thinking who might have called. Suddenly a man answered the phone, Matthew he said, from the 4A's. Suddenly my adrenaline went running and butterflies were flying not just in my stomach, but everywhere. He told me that I was nominated for a Merit, Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. I'm invited for the annual Kancil Awards night on the 1st October 2004. I'M INVITED TO THE PRESTIGOUS KANCIL AWARDS NIGHT!
I have lost hope, waiting for a call to at least tell me whether my work has qualified or not. They have 1 whole month and decided to tell me 3 days before the dinner! Not that I'm not happy, but the pain and suffering of not knowing anything, only God knows.
Kancil Award is an award given to the people in Malaysia who are involved in the ad industry. Best ad, copywriting, all those thingie. And every year, they will organize a Kancil Student Award, aimed at practitioners to be. So in a way, as a freshie, being nominated is like knocking at doors of my dream agency. Hey, I might just get a Merit award, but the chance to be with Malaysia's best ad people, to mingle and be around them is an honour itself. Anyway, this is the first time a student from UiTM will be going for such an event. So good luck to me!
Coming back from the dead. It has nothing to do with me actually. The title refers to the Real Madrid - AS Roma match early this morning. Madrid were down 2-0 in the first 20 minutes. The GALACTICO's were destined for doom. So it seems. You should have look at their faces. The producer seems to be showing Raul's, Zidane's and Beckham's sad face again and again until, Madrid did the impossible. They went on and won 4-2. Somewhere in my heart I knew Madrid will make a comeback. But not by 2 goals when it seems everything is going the wrong way for them. But as I always said to my friend, if there's any team which is capable of a miracle, it will always be Real Madrid.

Nice Guys Finish Last
Its true, it took me 10 years, and now I know it's true. You try your best to be nice but as usual: somebody misunderstood you, takes advantages or just plain ignore you. This is NOT fair! Hey, I don't mind getting punish, if I genuinely made somebody life's miserable, but half of the time I dont even know the person who's picking bone with me. I repeat, I DON'T KNOW THE PERSON!
Just now somebody sms me, asking when on earth I will pay back him/her for something I borrowed and lost. On this circumstances, I borrowed the stuff, lost it, I should pay for it. The only problem is, I never thought somebody who owe me money more then the stuff is worth would actually ask me the question? This is not the first time.
A few other friends, borrowed money from me and never pay back. I kept quiet and just let it be, hopefully when they have money, they'll pay back. Neah, never happens. Helped my friend in need, send them to clinics, helped them move into new homes, even stayed up to helped them finish their assignments, and a few of them actually stabed my back!
Well, like it or not they are still my friends, or at least friends in need - need of my help. And stupid me always forget that.
All this doesnt mean I wont pay, or help them no more. They are my friends. I would like to keep it that way.
Yet, I do have some good friends. Those who'll laugh and cry with you. I don't actually need acknowledgement, actions speaks louder than words. You know when people appreciate what you have done for them. I myself never forgets what people have done for me. Let it be just wishing me happy birthday. And so does few of my friend.
Maybe thats why I never cared finishing last. There's always somebody with me.

Starting New
This would be my first ever attempt in doing such a thing. Tried the diary, manage to get to the six day of the year. My scrapbook when to scraphell where ever that is and a journal is way out of my league. So rather then wasting my time infront of the computer doing nothing, I decided to do this blog thingie. Maybe, just maybe this time I would stick to such a BIG commitment!
Well, I started of this week with a colourful note. Last Saturday, I finally made it. I finally won a gold award for my interfaculty print ad competition. Tried so hard since 3 semester ago, always failing to grab the #1 spot. 1 merit and silver for the first attempt. 1 merit, 2 bronze and 2 silver for the second time and finally, this semester I won gold!
It seems this semester the world has been nice to me. Must be my most exciting semester at the faculty. I won bronze award for the Adoi Adrenaline Student creative award. Get to bring Ahmad Izham Omar, one person whom I respect for his sheer creative and wit, to give a talk to my fellow friends. With him was Edward Ong, one of Malaysia's best copywriter. Made my mark, yet again in the inter faculty print ad contest and hopefully, graduating this year.
Anyway, before signing off, let me get this on record, for the 5th time I voted for my friend Hanie who is eyeing for a spot in the final of WWW TV Spokes Model competition. Good luck to her!
